Marcus Thompson was born in 1965 in Oakland, California. Growing up, he was interested in music, and this led to some early exposure as a mobile DJ in the Bay Area. By the age of 17, Marcus developed a passion for writing short stories, poetry, and songs. His interest in songwriting eventually lead him to form the popular 80’s group “Timex Social Club”. In 1986, the group released their mega-smash hit song “Rumors” which reached No.1 on the Billboard R&B charts and climbed to No.8 on the Billboard Pop charts respectively. Marcus is an accomplished songwriter, producer, and author with many awards to his credit.
