Vupenyu waMwamba was born in 1956 and grew up in a remote village where he took turns with his brothers to look after his father?s cattle. He was educated at a Mission school where he obtained ?O? and ?A? levels respectively. Mwamba went on to the University of Colourbar where he graduated with a first class in social sciences. After a lecture on the politics of oppression and race relations in developed countries, members of the audience shared their varied but common experiences in work places. Their conclusion?to be a black overseas-trained teacher in the United Kingdom was a curse. Mwamba continues as an activist with interests in the human rights movement.
