JOHN MCLENNAN
"The author has been researching violin acoustics for 30 years using experimental methods. This has enabled the violin as a producer of sound to be given values for important physical acoustical parameters.
The experimental methods used were simple bench top methods that would give the value of important parameters
The author after graduating as a Metallurgist in 1947 has been engaged in research first on low energy loss silicon bearing sheet for transformer cores. Study of the brittle nature iron at low temperatures related to the failure of ""liberty"" ships made in America during WWII.
Graduated MSc (1964) UNSW for work on Internal Friction of mild steel. Graduated PhD (2009) UNSW for Violin Acoustics from Baroque style to Romantic style instrument."
