I was born in Ocilla Georgia along with my four brothers. We were born to two amazing parents, who struggled to raise us. My mother left Fitzgerald Georgia to find a better opportunity for her children. We ended up in Syracuse, New York where I was raised. My dad followed my mom to Syracuse shortly after. I attend all Syracuse city school district schools. When I was young I wanted to become a singer/songwriter. While in school as an adolescent my favorite subject was math. After High School I had three children with my high-school sweetheart. My eldest child is depicted as the main character in this book. I worked and attended College while raising my family. Once enrolled in college math became my least favorite subject. I became fascinated with children's literature. Before graduating from college I wrote two children's books. Which sat in my saved email folder. I found a job I enjoyed in the social service field. I set a goal to become a program manager which I accomplished in less than 5 years. I was terminated from that employer which hurt me deeply, but all things happen for a reason. I decided to do what I loved. I found my way back to writing. I am so grateful for my journey.
