Part 2 presents the continuation of the malicious agenda of Doctor Bates and will leave you in a trance of shock with its vigorous narrative. A moment ago, it seemed, it was yesterday full of happiness. Tomorrow it is a matter of survival for Mary as her life is on the brink of insanity to her Knight in Shining Armor. Loving him was all she ever had. As she meets Drake again she becomes a slave in the madness of love. Before Mary notices the dangerous life, she gets deeply trapped in Drake’s dodgy mesh. It’s too late for her to escape. Fraud, lies, dominance, torment and the complexity of an abusive relationship evolve, and will unexpectedly be a new part of Mary’s life. Drake’s sinister betrayal sneaks slowly in as he lures Mary like a ravenous wolf in sheep’s clothing. Mary will experience love, hatred and deception; however, will she continue to be Drake’s victim in his mystiques and hefty deceptions he gets during the nights? On the outside, it seems Drake is loving and has a high IQ, above normal. On the inside, he is a devious psychopath. The story will drastically unfold to a complexity of a love drama, crime, fraud and Drake’s delusions of grandeur. At a secluded area outside Hong Kong, the mafia attempt to kill Drake. We will follow the two sweethearts in how they try to escape from the difficulties with the Asian Mafia. With lightning speed, three creepy guys and the mafia boss run into the Hotel to search for Drake. Not only once, but several times the two lovebirds are on the run in the shadowy darkness of the night, because Drake steals and frauds his business associates.

About the Author
For the past decades, the author M. L. Stark wanted to write a book about life, from being born to becoming an adult woman. She lives in the United Kingdom, and suddenly got the courage to write BURNING DESIRE – Part One, following BURNING DESIRE FADES – Part two of the “Burning Desire trilogy: The Psychopath and the Girl in Black Prada Shoes.”
The author is an established woman, who has been married for over 20 years and has grown children and several grandchildren. Despite her struggles during her lifespan as she was living in a petrifying mess, she had plenty of courage to help abandoned and rare animals and support children’s causes if needed. During her lifespan, she fell prey when she didn’t could see through the love life as she was dating a sociopath, one who swindled himself through life and when the recent man in her life began to sink into his mania of deceives, abuse and lies.
Today the author lives a content life in the United Kingdom, knowing she achieved the impossible; to write books about being a sufferer who survived the cruelty of childhood abuse and mental abuse from the man she loved. I can merely say:

A disturbing tale of deception and lies…
The second installment in The psychopath and The Girl in Black Prada Shoes series continues with Mary’s story as she finds herself further swallowed in a dark web of lies and deceits. The things between Paul and Mary are turning bitter with their children stuck in the middle. With the divorce proceedings on, Mary is fully entrapped in Drake’s sinister scheme. He is overly attentive to her, and their romance is blooming. The first warning signal flashes for Mary when their vacation trip is interrupted by a sinister Asian mafia boss trying to recover his stolen money from Drake. Soon Mary finds herself running for her life with Drake at her side with mafia at their heels. The stakes rise when a plethora of sexual abuse and financial fraud cases open against the charismatic doctor. Dejected, Mary finds a ray of hope when the enigmatic Daniel Detwiler walks into her life. Will she take a chance or will her traumatic experience with Drake get in her way? Stark nicely captures Mary’s internal struggle as she continuously questions her own decisions of getting involved with Drake. Several countries of world, including Hongkong, Spain, Holland, Croatia, Caribbean, United Arab Emirates among others serve as a picturesque backdrop for this pulp thriller. Stark is good when it comes to sketching her characters, but she needs to work on her writing: the narrative jumps in timelines, causing confusion in readers’ minds, and the plotting is loose, making it difficult to stay invested in the story. The inclusion of mob elements imbues this dark romance with standard pulp thrills. But more than a troubled romance, this is a study in psychopathy as Mary attempts to understand Drake’s twisted personality. As she delves deeper into the issues of her relationship with Drake, she realizes he is incapable of empathy, guilt, or loyalty to anyone but himself. Mary has come a long way from the naïve, overly simple middle-aged woman of Burning Desire who couldn’t see behind the charming façade of her lover to the assured, reflective woman of Burning Desire Fades. It pains her that despite plenty of red herrings she failed to see the real person behind his charismatic personality. With his shallowness, a grandiose sense of self-worth, and his lack of remorse, Drake comes out as a full-fledged psychopath, who uses flattery as a weapon to entrap his victim. Any woman struggling with the uncertainty that can accompany dating a psychopath will find herself relating to Mary’s story.
