About the Authors Ronald M. Heck, Ph. D., Senior Development Associate with Engelhard Corporation, Iselin, NJ, is responsible for testing and evaluating Engelhards environmental catalysts. He has worked on catalysts for reducing nitrogen oxides, for abatement of ozone and volatile organic compounds, and for diesel exhausts. He is the author of over 30 papers and recipient of eight U. S. patents. Robert J. Farrauto, Research Fellow with Engelhard Corporation, is involved in all aspects of catalysis for the environmental, chemical, and petroleum industries. The author of 40 papers and recipient of 20 U. S. patents, he is an adjunct professor of chemical engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology and is affiliated with the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
